Although the Colombian label MUAKK is only three years old, it has quickly gone global within the underground scene, showcasing a punk-tinged side of the increasingly popular and stylistically diverse universe of Latin electronic music.
The latest release by Budapest-based DJ-producer Subotage — known from the NVC collective — has just landed on the label. The EP is part of a longer process of building connections, as he has already visited Bogotá more than once (and each time dove deep into the local scene). Thanks to this network, Bogotá’s electronic music superstar Julio Victoria and MUAKK co-founder 2AT recently played at Turbina in Budapest.
On the LIMPIA EP, the mystique of South America and the industrial pulse of European dance floors intertwine in an organically driving formation — with the label boss also contributing a remix to complete the release.
